General Summary Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for assisting with the daily management responsibilities of the Human Resources department by performing the following duties. Principal Accountabilities - Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. - Updates and maintains Company policies and handbooks to ensure compliance with changing legal requirements. - Investigates, resolves and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. - Manages all aspects of FMLA and personal medical leaves administration for the plant. - Manages the plant’s EEO/Affirmative Action compliance. - Coordinates and administers the programs supporting Extraordinary Performing Work Systems (EPWS) for hourly employees. - Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant non-exempt and may assist with exempt positions. Oversees recruitment for all hourly positions. - Delivers training programs to management on various programs ranging from Diversity Awareness to Sexual Harassment. - Conducts and analyzes wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate. - Manages the Company Store operation maintaining a cost effective operation within budget. - Chairs the OutReach committee, which coordinates various outreach and work life initiated programs. - Chairs the employee recognition committee to drive engagement. - Oversees the new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. - Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs to ensure consistent application. - Participates in unemployment hearings for terminated personnel. - Provides assistance to employees for benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Job Specifications • Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) with an emphasis in human resources • Education desired: Master’s level degree • Years of relevant experience: five to seven years related experience working in an HR capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications: PHR or SPHR strongly desired. Lean certification desired.
